In July, our weekend bag sets down its suitcases on the sublime island of Réunion to admire its breathtaking landscapes.

Réunion is the birthplace of Bourbon vanilla, one of the finest and most fragrant in the world!

The name "Bourbon" comes from the island's former name, and its cultivation owes much to Edmond Albius who, in 1841, developed the manual pollination of the flowers.

Each austral winter, from June to October, humpback whales leave Antarctica to reach the warmer waters of Réunion where they mate and give birth.
